Looking for Standard Poodle

I am sorry to take up such a personal problem with all you people on
this list. However, I have come to regard you as some of the most caring
and kind folks I know. I will try to be brief.
My wife suffers a chemical imbalance which makes her susceptible to
depression. Her black standard poodle, Nibs, died two years ago. She has
missed him as her constant loyal companion but made do with my son's dog
Nero. However, Nero recognizes only Ben as his master and shuns my wife.
About two months ago she adopted a silver standard named Pepper. This dog
was just starting to work out and respond to her ministrations after it
had been neglected (not mistreated) for two years. Sadly, it was killed by
a car after only five weeks. The shock and the loss have taken their toll
on her reserves.
There are plenty of dogs for sale in the $500-$1,000 bracket. Because of
having to support two children in the mission field for our church, there
is no money for such a purchase.
If you know of any standard poodle (any color) which is available for adoption,
I believe we could make the expenditure for shipping. Please let me know
privately if you have such information.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.
