I'm finally back online. So to those that e-mailed me to find out where
I was...Our system was down for about two weeks for a major rebuilding.
Then I was booted off the list because of all the bounced mail. I hope
this one finally goes through.
I missed this list, and those on it, like an old friend.
I have a craft idea I want to pass along. We made these for a Scouter
that was leaving, and it was a real hit with the kids.
I purchased some of those shrink plastic sheets at an art supply store.
( We used to call them Shrinky Dinks.) I cut them into 3 in. X3 in.
pieces and punched a hole in the corner with a paper punch. The kids
could color and cut the plastic in any shape they wanted, leaving the
hole and keeping it (the plastic) as large as possible. (Use colored
pencils or non-washable markers.) When the kids were through, we placed
them in the oven and watched them shrink. The Cubs (and Scouters)
thought this was really cool! It takes about 3 to 5 minutes in an oven
at 275F. They come out 60% smaller and about as thick as a nickel. We
used pierced earring wire as the pin hooks. The kids could put them on
the "Tilly HaT" we gave to the Scouter, but this would be great to pass
along to each other as well.
