The Tiger Cub program began in 1982. Starting with 2nd grade boys.
It was part of the overall plan to move our program to a 2 year
Webelos program, which we did over a 5 year planned and executed time
The Tiger Cub Program has had the following changes ONLY since it's
1. The grade level was changed to FIRST GRADE. (note is made that the
grade is the determining factor, not age).
2. The pack committee position for Tiger Cub was changed FROM Tiger
Cub Group Leader TO Tiger Cub Coach.
3. In 1993, we STOPPED the separate printouts of charters for Tiger
Cubs and their partners, and began printin out all youth and adults
involved with A PACK in the same charter.
NOTE: This does not mean, and never has, that the Tiger Cub program
is part of the pack. This move was made for bookkeeping purposes,
supposedly, and for sure, to get our numbers to look better.
Ed. note: As of today, 2/24/95 --
1. Tiger Cub program is a separate and apart program. It is not to
be a junior Cub Scout program.
2. These are the only changes.
You are correct. The Tiger Cub program in 1982 is the same program,
in affect, we have only dropped down one grade level, had a "name
change" for the Tiger pack committee position; and administratively no
longer have to handle TWO charters for each pack that has a Tiger Cub
group, but have one charter, with the Tigers, Cub Scouts, and Webelos
Scouts listed separately. That is, of course, because those are the 3
programs within a pack.
Hope this helps.
