Saw all the discussion on the Cookie survey and hadn't seen any mention of the
cookies in Canada.
Basically Christie-Brown is our baker (you know, Mr. Christie!).
We now have 2 Cookie Campaigns (Spring & Fall)
In 1993 Guides Canada introduced a new Mint Cookie Campaign in
November/December. These cookies are mint cookies covered in chocolate.
Instead of taking orders for this, we have cookies in hand and just
sell-sell-sell. They have been a *huge* success. With what little statistics
I have, our Area was 42% over last year's sales.
The Spring campaign begins with taking orders in Jan/Feb and delivery is in
mid-April. Each box of cookies contains one row of vanilla and one row of
chocolate. Normally we sold these (for years!) at $2.50/box, but this year the
price went up to $3.00 (no reasons for the price increase were really given).
My favourite cookies are the vanilla. I can just eat tons and tons of vanilla
Girl Guide cookies (that's probably the reason I buy so many boxes!)
