I support a yearly "family camp" In 1995 my troop (GSUSA Troop 1363)
from Sacramento, CA will hold our third annual family camp. We select
a differnect location and plan activities for the scouts, different
activities for siblings (older and younger) plu a special group family
activity. What we have gained is a very close-knit troop. All the
parents know each other (they did not before) and all have become
friend supporting a common cause....Scouting for our Children.
We require at least one parent to attend (twist arms for both-in some
cases we get a mom, dad and step-dad plus siblings) in order for the
scoput to attend.
(please excuse the typos - this UNIX machine doesn't make corrections
I would recommend staying away fvrom the really primitive areas...showers
are appreciated by all as well as moderate temperatures and evening
And yes...GSUSA makes is difficult with all the paper work. BUT it is
worth the effort.
