Hi and Good Morning,
At this time of year, as my district's VC of Membership, I am very
busy planning programs; aids; tracking procedures; etc. to help
increase and insure Web. transition.
Last night at our dist. roundtable, I was handed a copy of a document
from National sent to our executives, that my D.E. felt would be of
help, although our district is well beyond what is in this packet, it
is of excellent quality.
If you are involved in the Web. transition anywhere, ask your D.E.
Webelos to Scout Transition - Graduation Plan for Councils (comes from
the Denver Area Council orginally -- see we do have input), Best
Methods (Ideas for Growth), p.n. 13-552. This is also on a disk and
the order form states it can be ordered in IBM compatible format only,
but can be 3.5 disk or 5.25 -- High or low density -- WordPerfect
version 5. or 5.1/5.2 or 6. Of course only the council execs can
order it, but maybe you know someone who can get it for you.
The cover letter states the following items available for transition:
Webelos-to-Scout Transition, no. 33870
Webelos Den-Troop Joint Overnighter, no. 13-007
Webelos Den Activities, no. 33853
Troop Program Planning Workbook, no. 33018
In addition there are small handout on the Web. transition for the
packs AND one for the troop leaders. (saw that last night too).
This new (referenced above) contains (Table of Contents)
Calendars for D.E.'s role
Calendar for Unit Commissioner role
Committee information chart
Cubmasters Disappearing Packet contains:
Instructions for the Cubmaster
Fifth-grade Webelos leader'srole
Tracking list of fifth-grade Webelos
The pack's role
(all of the above are QUITE excellent!)
There is also a recognition certificate to be copied, as well as the
order form for the disk.
The quote on the first page of this new tool is great:
"We can only instill the values of Boy Scouting into the lives of
boys who join."
