Just to add a bit of background to what Fred R already provided on
OA elections/voting. . .
Part of the ideals of the OA is that the scouts are elected by
all thier peer scouts in thier unit, not just by OA members or
by appointment of the SM or ASM or committee etc. However,
a SM can BLOCK a scout from being on the list of 'candiates'
for the elections. AND YES you can vote for yourself! In fact
in small units, not voting for yourself, may mean you do not
get elected! (if you think you should be in the OA)
OA member for over 30 years ! WOW I must be getting up there .
