I must strongly dissagree. I have always been told, taught ans harranged that
Scouting is not limited to just middle school aged boys. The true purpose of
Scouting is to develop leadership skill and make the Scout a leader when he
becomes an adult. Not necessarily a Scout leader, but just a leader in
We do a disservice to high school aged boys if we don't try to retain them.
That is the time when thier leadership skills are put to the greatest test and
Scouts should be thier primary testing ground. It is a shame that the
Leadership Corps was eliminated. In a modified form, LC would be an excellent
place for the older boys. There they have the elitism that comes with high
school and the comaraderie that they need to learn leadership.
