I agree. I had my "first" boy come to me and say that he hay decided to
leave scouting after I had work with him in Webelos and then in the troop.
We talked about how he could do multiple activities (one to include scouting),
and his hockey playing. He said he would think about it but called the next
day and said he wanted to leave. I asked if his parents knew (really GREAT people!)
and he said they knew.
I thanked him for his contribution to the troop and his friendship
and let him know
1. He is always welcome back,
2. if he ever needs a reference, just call
I know the leadership and the troop helped him in the maturing process
and I know that scouting did a lot of good for him.. he has made some
really good friends which will last a lifetime.
