When I was the Chartering Organization Rep.( back then known as Scouting
Coordinator)... I had the unfortunate task of asking a SM to step down.
I won't go into the details of why, but I did get the District Ex. involved.
I let Council (via the DE) know what has been going on and got their
opinion and possible things to do ... The ultimate solution was to ask
the SM to step down and let others move up ... I had to ask him this, which
I did in the presence of the DE... Needless to say it did not go well at all.
I mean to 'fire' a volunteer has been the hardest thing I did... Fortunately,
after several years, we are still 'somewhat' friends... The good thing
about that event is in retrospect, we did the right thing... The troop
is doing great and the numbers are increasing...
What I believe you need to do is to bring this to the attention of the
committee and the COR... let them take it from there.
Good Luck - (pssst - I don't evy your position on this one)...
