Here in Australia, we call nekiercheif (or neckies) slides woggles. Like Canada
and New Zealand, we have many strange varied looking ones and some make for
interesting making/looking at.
The Turks one (cant remeber the BSA term) is what we get after we have finished
stage 3 of our training. We have have several stages here and stage 3 (I think
it's stage 3c to be excat!) is the one in when we have done enough of the
basics to really run a unit/troop/pack/mob as a leader in your own right.
Some of the best I have seen is a whole Venturer unit who make theirs out of
leather, fur and have faces on them as well (you know, the eyes that move and
stuff) they look really neat. You really are only limited by your imagination.
The ones the Venturer Unit wears are also a real good craft activity for Cubs
and Joeys as well.
