I have to agree with Jim on this. I also feel compelled to add that I
feel every time we try to make Cubs more Scout-like we are doing a
disservice to both programs. I thought Webelos was supposed to have no
more than a tease of the Boy Scout program in order to entice all of
those boys to join a Troop. I realize Nat'l has made this an option, but
I don't understand why. The programs have seperate goals( but the same
ideals) and no boy should walk into a Boy Scout troop saying "I've
already done all of this in Webelos."
Every time you let a Cub do a Scout activity, you have taken away from
the program that some poor SPL has to try to provide.
I guess it's just a prejudice of mine that Cub Leaders should be doing
all they can to encourage their boys to go into Boy Scouting because of
its differences, not remove the differences by altering the Cub program.
