I second this action.
We were having problems with our school in Papillion, Nebraska, but after I
went as the Scoutmaster and talked with the principal directly, the troubles
vanished. Work with your principal directly and keep him/her involved with
the activities, you will not be sorry.
Also, try a service project yearly for the school. We helped paint the
parking lots and playgrounds/equipment, and we also did clean-ups and set-ups
for certain school sponsored events. This helped make the Troop more
noticable and helped the rapport with the PTO and the principal.
