Two people so far have stated their opinion on the subject line, however, both
ask that the issue be dropped so that a flame war does not start....So I dare
ask, why push your opinion and make stereotypical assumptions about the list
and members of Scouting in general, if you don't wish to discuss it.
I hope someone has responded to the original poster by email and stated their
opinions, but please:
1) Don't express your opinions on the topic through this list and attempt
to speak on behalf of the list. Members of Scouting are from a wide variety
of backgrounds through religious, cultural, racial and other ascribed
characteristics. They also have their own opinions and need not be generalized.
2) Show some respect to other countries who are participating on this list.
This issue, is one that appears to be an issue with the BSA alone.
I along with a number of Scouters from around the world have stopped posting
on rec.scouting, as the decay of the newsgroup has been brought down by
flame wars on the topic. Please don't let it happen here.
