It seems like the main concern was the unjustified criticism that the Mom
makes? My experience is that this is not limited to Moms, but to anyone
who does not fully understand the Scout program.
I have had similar problems with a Dad, who is one of our Cub Leaders, and
a good one at that. BUT he does not know much about the Scout program and
expects us to do things the way he does with Cubs!
Scouts are older, and learn by doing, including doing it wrong. So they
HAVE to be able to make their own mistakes (within reason of course) and
learn from them. To a Leader trained in younger programs, this is VERY
hard to do.
Try explaining this to the Mom and see what happens?
