Sorry to read about how you a women in Scouting get along. In my Troop, the
Scoutmaster is a woman. She does an outstanding job. I've also been
Scoutmaster for the troop and in some areas, she better, in others I'm
better. This is true with others who have been in the same position. No one
is the best at everything.
We also have a number of Committee Members who happen to be female that go
camping with us all the time. We never have a problem with moms getting in
the way. They are all Fast Start trained and understand how Scouting in a
Boy Scout troop must function to work correctly.
If I had a choice of an all male adult scout troop or mixed adult scout
troop, I would go with the mix of male and female. I have seen it would so
much better. Boys act better, male adults act better, and we get a lot more
done as we work together. That's the real world...male and female working
IMHO, help these moms become trained leaders and we'll be going places with
your troop you never believed you could do before.
