I understand what you're saying about "Why can't a non-Christian receive
well wishes during a Christian holiday?" _but_ being Jewish I see it from
a bit different perspective. When someone says "Merry Christmas" I assume
they're wishing someone joy in their celebration of Christmas, rather than
"Have fun on your day(s) off from work." Since I don't celebrate Christmas,
the wish may be well-intentioned but meaningless. I certainly don't wish
my Christian friends "Happy Hannukah!"
I fully agree with the first part of your message, though.
