B> the address you want is email@example.com
B>which is 25 char. Stupid thing for a reader to have a limitation like
YEP my feelings too. You want another....If you exceed 50 lines it
blows up with a protection fault error, cancels itself and deletes every
thing you've written.
B>I tried and liked ZNR, the Zipnews off-line Reader. It handles its
B>own packets, Qwk or Yarn packets. Will handle mail only or News only
B>or both. I can send you a copy on disk if you'd like to try it?
B>I now do most of my work on a SLIP/PPP connection. Isn't there an
B>'A-band' number you can call mcs.com on (within 8miles of your home)
B>it then is an untimed $0.05 call and you don't have to use an offline
I use Syslink which is an A-band interface to MCS. MCS is in Chicago
which is a 312 call. I also have a PPP account with World Wide Access
out of Veronon Hills which is a 708 AC but outside the A-band coverage.
The kicker is I really like the QWK reader features!!! But there's so
many bugs, and the support is non-existant. I can't even get the author
to return my posts. Until he gives me the courtesy of responding I
refuse to send in the registration fee.
