Well I apologize for getting up on my soapbox, I try to do it as seldom
as possible. The direction that the adult recognitions discussion is
going triggered me.
One of biggest concerns as I see it in my district, council and yes even
here is that many of us seem to lose sight of the fact that our
involvement in this program is "FOR THE BOYS". To many times I see or
hear someone talking about what they need to do to get this or that award
instead of what do I need to do to make the program better. Awards and
recognitions are nice but the ones I prefer are the smiles and laughter
from a successful program delivered to the boys. I just see to much
wasted efforts put toward knots and Wood Badge beads. We all really need
to stop and ask ourselves "am I really doing this for the boys or myself"
