Thanks again to all who responded and commented on the proceedings from
our little difficulty with the paintball gun and review process.
The boy has resigned his ASPL position, after his "probation" he could
be up for another leadership role providing he has demonstrated
LEADERSHIP, He has agreeded to the new RULES of behavior, and hopefully
the most important.. he has agreed to take a major role in a safety
program and to assist in the organization of an outing before Christmas.
This will emphasize SAFETY in the outdoors and in safe firearms
handling for the entire troop and will be a prelude to our Polar Bear
weekend in early January, this is a MUST ATTEND for anyone who plans to
participate in the Polar Bear.. A similar outing will be held later in
the Spring to be followed by another weekend, with the safety/firearms
session as a must attend again. I\We are giving it the benefit of the
doubt and are guardedly optimistic that we won't have any more
"accidents with firearms"
I am hopeful that true learning has taken place in this young man, that
he is not doing "the right thing" in order to redeem himself long enough
for LIFE/EAGLE, I guess only time will tell.
I am again grateful for your help, and I do hope that this can be a
lesson for all of us to learn from, I know we in T-123 have found this
to besomething we never want to go through again.
once again thanks to all,
