Troop 64 of Carversville, Pennsylvania has been using cardboard box ovens
successfully for the past 14 years to prepair a holiday feast on the first or
second weekend of December. We cook 4-5 20 lb. turkeys, three types of
stuffing, potatoes, vegetables, breads, and pies. We hand crank our own ice
cream (3 varieties). This event started as father and son dinner in 1981.
But the mothers didn't believe we were really cooking all this food outside,
not to mention the cardboard boxes, so it became a family event. In recent
years we have been serving about 100 people. We are preparing to do the same
again next weekend. It is a gormet meal from the appetizers to the desserts!
