You may well be right Ian, I wasn't there nor do I know the boy. But it
is possible that he brought the paintgun just to show off to the other boys.
Teenagers, and some adults also, like to show off their new toys. Of course
a paintgun is not a toy. What we teach the boys about handling potentially
dangerous items such as fire and knives needs to be applied to anything
that can cause harm.
