I am sorry, but the comment of not drinking in uniform is not
hyprocritical, it is the national policy of Scouting. It is not out of
a "secret" life, but is in respect for the uniform we wear.
That's all. Rules are rules. When alcohol is served we are not in
uniform. However, if someone is receiving their Woodbadge beads at a
district dinner, where there is a "cash bar" planned, it is not
appropriate to be awarded the beads out of uniform. So, rules are
pretty clear. Don't drink in uniform. It is possible to have fun
without alochol, and that is part of our drug program teaching, and we
teach by example.
So, not to worry about hyprocrisy, just rules. And, many world-wide
believe, common sense.
