I don't think you gave the publisher. Do you know the publisher? I am
indeed a pragmatist (given your definition). However, I suspect that once
you peel away the differences that seem to really get in the way of sharing
(non COED, religious requirements, no gays and others that the ADULTS allow
to get in the way) that the kids are not that dissimilar. JOTA has and
continues to be one of my favorite ways of introducing kids to kids from
elsewhere. It was amazing to me to watch them exchange similarities and
differences. If you have not tried JOTA or an out of country camporee,
try it if it is at all possible.
