My mailer does not generate the "re:"! It appears on only some of the
incoming traffic, where it has already been added.
I agree that many, if not most of the folks here probably won't use the
LISTSERV archives and hence the topics there. I don't think there has to
be a linkage between the shorthand we may or may not adopt in the subject
line and those topics. For example, items of International interest and
prefaced by "INT" may encompass several LISTSERV topics and be archived in
different places, hence the idea of a matrix. In practice it may make
things easier; e.g. search topic x for international items vice all items.
Some folks are picking up on subject line descriptors already. Maybe we
ought to see how it works for awhile and see what shakes out as people try
this concept. It may be that it will help or that it will die out if
there isn't sufficient interest. I'd like to see folks try to use what
they are comfortable with using and then see what the group thinks.
