You are of course correct--and I don't lump NZ in with AUS...but, also
of course, you're correct that we can't define descriptors for everything.
I'm responding more to your comment on the digests--it does save a great
deal of bandwidth and local disk space :) since it's one single message
with one set of delivery "postmarks" in the main header. My only
problem with digests is that it makes it hard to respond to a specific
message within the digest, since REPLY generates a header with the
generic "SCOUTS-L Digest for such-and-such a date" subject line...
I appreciate your comments on the descriptors. The original proposal
was meant specifically to draw out this kind of discussion. I hope to
condense the several responses into a refined proposal this weekend.
It probably won't be as sweeping and will probably limit itself to
certain <types> of postings rather than separate them by country/continent.
