Sorry about this folks, but i felt it was necessary to contribute my $0.02...
As I've been catching up on my mail over the last several days, an
observation struck me that I felt it was necessary to comment on. With all
of the talk about separate lists, BSA domination, etc. it seems to me that
some of us have lost sight of the greater picture. Where else but on the
'net do you have the opportunity to regularly discuss scouting with people
from all around the world. It seems to me that we need to be more concerned
with joining together for the future of our youth, not breaking apart or
flaming another scouter because you disagree with his / her opinion. We have
to remind ourselves that not everyone agrees with us, and the world is a
better place because of it. We are members of a WORLD BROTHERHOOD, and if we
can't treat each other with the respect that is indicated by that, maybe we
need to be doing some self-examination. Ours is a unique situation, we can
influence the future, not only in our own countries, but around the world, by
making a POSITIVE contribution to the lives of our youth. Yes, there will be
discussions that pertain only to one program, if it isn't your program, then
ask questions, take the opportunity to learn more about scouting, you may be
able to improve your own program through it.
I apologize if I have offended anyone with my remarks, as that is not the
I hereby relinquish the soapbox....
