I just received the forms for the contingent for which I am leader this
year. The forms had exactly what they have had for several years and that
is a scout must be 13 before January 1 of the year they will go. If they
are 13 on January 2, 1995, they cannot go in 1995. While I was there
last year, I filled out a survey in which I was asked whether or not I
thought the age should be 13 (same as now), 13.5, or 14. They are thinking
that there will be fewer calls to the chaplains and not as much trouble
with crowding if they raise the age requirement. I checked 14 and agreed.
I met many wonderful groups from Japan, Russia, Korea, etc. I wonder if we
have any international scouters here who have been to Philmont?
