Regarding Social Security numbers - I'm from UK so I don't have any US
identifiers. I do have a US$ bank account, and on one occasion tried to
buy goods on a store with a check in Boston Mass. drawn on my bank in
Washington DC. All my ID - passport, driving licence etc. had alphabetic
characters and the machine by the till wouldn't take them. So the clerk
typed in the number printed on the back of the check under my name.
Bingo ! Transaction authorised. I'd like to know if the credit rating
system really has my UK phone number as my identifier ( complete with the
) you don't dial from USA) or who it is with my phone number as his/her
SSAN and are good for $40 ...
