Example...Story of the "now famous" priest accused of molesting an alter boy,
found not guilty. An interview by the news media of the boy also disclosed he
was innocent. However, he is not practicing in his parish anymore, his life
will never be the same. He is not trusted. A life destroyed because another
priest saw him wrestling with the boy, and the boys pants fell down. From that
many assumptions were made.
People believe what they want, not necessarily the truth. As Scout Leaders we
are always at risk, far more so than teachers who are in a very controlled
As long as the "witch" hunt is ongoing, we as leaders, and BSA, as the
movement, need all the support we can get.
