I'm presenting an introduction to the Cub Scout Academics Program at our
next Roundtable with some emphasis on the four newly added ones (math,
geography, heritages and citizenship) as well as the 4 older ones
(communications, music, art and science).
Has anyone used these as a pack-wide or den-wide "theme of the month"?
and how did it work?
Did having different criteria for each academic pin (apart from
the belt loops) present some confusion in either running or explaining the
program? How did you successfully (or unsuccessfully) adapt the program
for your pack use? Did it have any appeal to the boys like some of the
sports programs do?
Any ideas on how to make this program a real successful one? I'll
summarize any private responses and post it next week.
