Well....if you're talking about *this Mike*, I oftentimes get up early
to try to catch up on my email and of course, this means that I have
to create another pot of coffee! Right now, I am sitting here waiting
for Jess to come home and yes, I *do* have a mug of coffee on my desk
and I do drink it (away from the keyboard and the telephone...ask Jess
why! *smiling*) between postings.
I would love to talk online with many of you...I've been trying to
rearrange my personal schedule to honor a committment to GEnie and
talk with many of you there...things have been going on a fast pace
here and the past 72 to 108 hours hasn't helped things either. My
Reserve unit is crossing its collective fingers that we don't have to
relocate to Fort Campbell to replace those leaving for the Gulf over
the past two weeks (our military policemen and staff are already there
at Campbell to replace those MPs sent to Haiti). It's not that we're
not ready...it's just that we've (I've) went through a process whereby
we had to pare the Garrison of its senior-most officers and
noncommissioned officers (Sergeants Major, Master Sergeants and a lot
of Sergeants First Class) and those left don't have the
"institutional knowledge" (read that experience) of doing their new
jobs and roles at Fort Campbell. Many, like me, were not even in the
unit during the Gulf War (Desert Shield/Storm), so we would definately
have a period of "adjustment".
Add that to a *persistant* thought that within eight months, I'll be
remarried and trying to come up with suitable plans and ideas to cut
costs while having something memorable; and my daily sales of computer
equipment, faxes, phones and other stuff; and....you get the idea.
There's no wonder that the center of my head is getting shinier and
shinier every single day, right?? *hehehehe*
So, its' really grand to see Ian and I conversing at five or six in
the "am" here on Scouts-l...and beleive me, I'm getting to the bottom
of the mail list here fast...
Would you care for some coffee, Chris? It's hot and fresh!
Settummanque!@Hey! I don't go ANYPLACE without coffee!
