technical foupah! Snipes are real birds! But you would not
normally find them out at night, in scout camps :) And did
anyone ever ask WHY we would want to catch a snipe anyway? :)
NOw, a stainless steel smoke shifter, or 50 feet of shoreline,
all have a funtional purpose, and in fact, I know of some
leaders that have built smoke shifters and such, just to play
along with such scavenger hunt games.
Negative hazing really does serve no useful function, in Frats,
or scouting. But some kind of ROOKIE pranks are still OK in
my thinking, as well as some kind of formal inductions, that
is the time to end the pranks and get down to the real FUN.
