As a new subscriber to this list, I am posting a short introductory note
I have been in Scouting for 15 years since I started as a cub and progressed
through to Venture Scout's and received the Queen's Scout Award.(I'm now 23)
I am now an Instructor at a local Cub Pack and advise the District's Venture
Scouts' on various activities and expeditions. Basically, I would like to see
more Queen's Scouts' from the District I am currently in and any advice I
can offer is gratefully received.
My point on Queen's Scouts' is this, in the UK, I have been told the rules
state that the badge worn on the Uniform must be removed on the 25th
Birthday. Would you not agree that the honour this Award carries with it,
should be with you throughout your Scouting days and not just until your
25th Birthday ?.
I, like all Queen's Scouts' spent many hours planning and completing this
award and cannot see any reason why the badge should come off the uniform.
I'm informed a proposal has been put together to discuss this issue, this was
at the beginning of the year and have heard nothing since ?.
Apologies is this point has been made previously.
I have attended various events over the years, the most memorable three being
Viking Venture, London Venture, and in July of this Year , European Venture.
The latter being exceptionally well organised, and an experience I will never
