My understanding of the question on using explorer shirts was that the
unit was wanting to distinguish a "Leadership Corps." This would seem
to establish two different uniforms (both considered by the unit to be
the field (Class 'A') uniform). This does not seem appropriate.
If, as some have suggested the green shirt is worn as the activity (Class 'B')
uniform by ALL scouts, then it would seem to be ok. However, it doesn't
fit my definition of activity uniform which usually means a troop T-shirt.
Along this line, last summer at camp a nearby unit used some sort of an
amplified sound system to announce its uniform of the day--at 6 a.m. each
day. They had a different T-shirt for every day and the one evening it was
cool, they all wore matching (but not standard BSA) poplin jackets. I wish
some of my units had that kind of money--we'd get some new equipment.
