While GPS can aleviate the need for the skill of triangulating your position
(at least till the batteries die), it cannot tell you how to get where you are
going or what you will see along the way.
Until GPS can tell you that there is a 50-foot-deep chasm blocking the most
direct rount from Point A to Point B, the need for map reading skills will
