Well, I did it.
I met with my ticket counselor yesterday, and completed my ticket.
Now I can really say "I used to be a beaver" (EC-462-W)
Of course, I have to admit that I felt like a 17 364/365 year old meeting
with his SM for his Eagle SM Conference, as I was just short of 2 years
since my course ended.
I'll get my beads at a troop Court of Honor later this month.
The major point of my ticket was the establishment of the Cleveland Freenet
Scouting Center. My Ticket Counselor, who is on the National Council of
BSA, was really interested in the results. He has asked me to pose a
question and request to this list and asks that it be cross posted to other
scouting oriented boards.
His question is this:
What efforts should the National Office of BSA make to incorporate
the latest technologies, particularly the Internet and e-mail functions, to
impprove service to Scouts and Scouters.
If there was a "WISH LIST" what would be on it, such as on-line
ordering from National Suplpy, on-line publications, etc.
George will be meeting with the new National President in a few weeks, and
would like to be able to present him with a reasonable list of ideas. He
feels that, considering his postion at Martin-Marietta, the Natl. Pres.
should look favorably and be receptive to this type of change.
Please send replies by PRIVATE E-MAIL to the address below. I'll
consolidate the replies and post a summary here.
I would also ask that someone (ONE ONLY) please cross-post this to the
FIDONET echo, AOL, Compuserve, and similar boards.
(ps to Mike Walton: Please also post this to rec.scouting, as my system is
overloaded and all Usenet posts are bouncing.)
Thanks for your help.
I used to be a Beaver...
