LDS troop NOT meeting w/ nonLDS

Mike Walton mentioned in his posting that some LDS troops were told not to
associate with nonLDS troops or even boys in his area.
All I can say is "SHAME SHAME" on those local LDS leaders who encourage that
type of behavior and cliqueishness!!! I feel bad for them because they are
missing the opportunity to learn a lot of different skills and talents from
the nonLDS scouts and scouters. (Like how to properly run a troop for
In my area (Inland Northwest Council - Northern Idaho and Eastern Washington)
we encourage and insist that our LDS troops and leaders go to, support, and
even put on district and council events. We encourage them to go to
Roundtable, Camporees, Training Meetings, Recognition Dinners, etc. etc. etc.
We would not want to be our own District. We have a lot to share and a lot
to learn with the nonLDS scouts.
I'm amazed and infuriated by such an attitude as the one Mike talked about!
