how about making your own play? i've made very good experiences with
a "theatre day" at our summer camps. we dividied to troop into
several groups: one made the play itself one wrote songs (i.e. new
lyrics to well-known songs) one group decided about and
prepared costumes and stage properties.
and i don't think that the kids have to memeorize each line. it's
much more fun if you only have an outline of the plot which is filled
spontanously by the actors.
