Thanks Bob Haar for your reply. This scout needs no comprimise for himself.
He is a record holder in wheel chair events in his age category. However,
he cannot swim a single stroke. We'll figure out some alternative challenge
for him to meet that requirement. This kid has set high goals and he did
everything one does for Tenderfoot except long jump. He "ran" in his chair,
etc. He did pullups, sit ups, modified push ups, etc. He would not
tolerate our just saying your exempt even if we would. It is a great
experience having him in our troop. I can't tell you how proud I am of
the other boys who have voluntarily taken on some of the imaginable tasks
that allow this kid to camp out, etc.; all without prodding.
