With regards to the swimming requirement I have two comments -
1. The requirement is the same for all boys. "Letting a boy slide" is really
just a euphamism for lying about his completion of that requirement. If a
boy has trouble remembering the Scout Oath, will you also "let him slide"?
2. If, five years from today, that same young man drowns in some accident
because he could not swim, how will you then feel about "letting him slide"?
Swimming is an important skill that *all* people should posess - especially
