Our Troop has a "firepit" made from a 55 gallon drum, cut in half across the
cylinder. I stands on plumbers pipe legs about 2 feet off the ground. We've
had pretty good success with it. It's an excellent place to start up charcoal
for a dutch oven (or 8).
Also, plian garbage can lids in firebrick can from coal beds, or be used for
ASM Troop 323
