Hats Off? to Salute

Title 36 of the U.S. Code at Section 171 says that men in civilian attire
should remove their headgear and place their right hand over their hearts
when the National Anthem is played, the pledge is said, etc. For those in
uniform it says the hats stay on. By the way the American Legion has a
great little phamplet called Lets Be Right on Flag Etiquette. Contact
your local American Legion Post for copies. It answers most questions.
