Now that I think about it, maybe I was very lucky. A member of the troop
committee was in the council office just about every day. He is also an
Executive Board member. He is the mentor for the last 18 Eagles that our
troop has had. If he was not available, the Scoutmaster was notified that
the package had come in. With only 25-35 Eagles in the Council each year,
the registrar does a very good job getting the word out. The advancement
committee chairman tracks where the packages are also. I think that the key
is the people involved. I do like the idea of the letter with a copy to the
SM. I will pass it along to the advancement chairman. Thanks.
