After rolling this issue around in my head for a while, I pose a
question...How can we as Scouters go about developing "self-starters"
in our youth membership?
I ask this question in regards to the earlier thread on troop meeting
activities, and the comments that merit badge work is to be completed
by Scouts on their own initiative.
If a Scout exhibits this "self-starting" attribute, they will have
"a leg up" on advancement...among other things (perhaps even more
worthwhile). What steps might we take as Scouters, to develop or
create this attribute in Scouts who do not seem to have it?
Thanking you all in advance for discussion on this topic.
