Introduction of Myself to Discussion Group

I just subscribed to Scouts-L and thought I'd send a brief note
First, my name is Jim Tucker. I live in Smithsburg, Maryland
which is about 70 miles from Washington, D.C. I just took over
the position of Scoutmaster for Troop 14 in Smithsburg. The
troop currently has 7 boys registered and 4 that are real active.
This includes my son who is a First Class scout (only shy 1 merit
badge of earning the Star Rank). We are located in the

After earning the rank of Eagle I was a Junior Assistant
Scoutmaster for 2 years. I had been out of scouting until 2
years ago when my son joined Boy Scouts. In March of this year
the committee chairman approached me and asked if I would accept
the position of SM as the current SM was stepping down.
I completed leader training in April and am really excited about
building the troop up.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
