I think that you are being a bit hard on those who would a SM stay and
work with his boys rather than quiting because a boy was given a BoR and
approved for the Eagle rank. I do not believe that any of the persons who
posted messages suggesting that the SM stay were saying that he should grin
and swallow hard. They are saying that they would suggest that the issues
be brought to higher and higher authorities until the message is heard and
actions are taken that assure that this will not happen again.
In my life I have found that a resignation seldom if ever gets the
message across. People respond to the action (resignation) rather than to
the message and the issues involved. People think that the SM resigned in
anger and that he or his ability to handle the situation were the problem.
Nothing is gained. I would support the suggestion that he stay and fight for
change. I do understand the feeling involved and would understand the decision
to resign, but. . . . .
