I spent the last academic year away from home and did not participate
on the scouts-l list. I left my subscription set to NOMAIL for the
duration. I set my subscription back to DIGEST after returning to
Stillwater this summer. Due to other activities I did not
participated actively on the list in the summer.
I have two sons still at home. My 16 year old dropped out of
scouting. He was a Cub Scout, but did not complete his arrow of
light. He was a Boy Scout for two years, but never finished the
requirements for his Scout Badge.
My 14 year old completed his Arrow
of light and now is a Star Scout. He is very active in his troop
where I serve as a member of the troop committee.
I addition to serving on my son's troop's committee, I presently serve
as a merit badge counselor, BSA lifeguard counselor, and Assistant
I have been involved in in scouting since I was an 8 year old Cub
Scout. I am Wood Badge trained (a "good old Buffalo" from SC 426). I
received the Explorer Silver Award in 1959 (troop 49, Ft. Monmouth,
NJ) and my Eagle in 1961 (Post 50, Shrewsbury, NJ). I became a member
of the OA (Blackeagle lodge) with my ordeal in 1956 at Cam Freedom in
I have held several positions as an adult scouter. These include ADL,
DL, ACM, ASM, SM, unit commissioner, and my present positions.
My wife also is active in the scouting movement having been an ADL,
DL, and on the pack committee. She presently serves as a Unit
I have received a lot of valuable information from this list in the
past. I am happy to be back.
