Let's see, as I said out Council's latest Webelos Outdoor Training has held
at Camp Phillips during the Webelos Resident Camp, think it cost $5 preregister
$10 late. We started as a group going over the general principles, then broke
into 3 groups, we covered different campfires, fire safety, ax safety etc;
geology; campsite prep and setup (given by a Boy Scout); forester/naturalist
(given by a forester from the Department of Natural Resources); for lunch we
cooked chicken and or fish stir fry over the campfire, (they had cold cuts at
the diniing hall!) talked about food prep; finished the breakout groups in the
afternoon. At the end we did a flag retirement of an old Perkins flag.
We had alot of hands on and discussion, it went well, they too would perfer to
have it overnight, but most of us were camping with our scouts anyway.
