Well, folks I am finally back from my week at the Mackinac
Island Scout service Camp in Upper Michigan. A great time was had by
all. The Upper Peninsula COntingent consistsed of 56 boys and 9
leaders. Governor Engler and Former PResident Bush came by during the
week. We also had a 2 hour interview of the GRand Hotel and bought most
of the fudge on the island. 11 Scouts earned the Historic Trails award.
600 candy bars and 21 cases of pop were sold at 30 cents a piece. 22
flags were raised and lowered simultaneously each day as well as manning
12 duty posts for 7 hours each day....
All in all we had a lot of fun and drained the island dry of
fudge. I met a few OA members and Scouters from WAshingot, Oregon, New
Jersey and etc....I don't knwo if any of them are on this list but if so
it was nice talking to you....
Anyway I am back and happy and tired of wearing Scout socks....
